Friendtech was initially a great app that kicked off the rise of socialfi across web3, but it's ultimate demise was an overly sensitive and erratic founder who would rather run away and hide than face any criticism.
we wouldn't be here without friend.tech so credit is due. racer really fumbled the opportunity but all the racer missteps allowed serp to say fuck it and take the leap that so few actually do. also, a nice little stimmy, thank you

I liked the concept, and ideas behind Friend.tech... But ultimately i found it unusable,, not very user friendly and honestly I think catered to the folks with really big social followings. Smaller accounts, didn't fare well... IMO.
While Friend.Tech could have been so much more, I celebrate the success they had in introducing new ideas and bringing back reciprocation (3,3) as an emergent goal, incentivizing pro-social behavior. Ethos wouldn't exist without them paving the way. Plus I made an eth on Serp's key.
FriendTech gripped the entire space and redefined the value of one’s personal brand in crypto. The only problem was that it was run by a narcissist focused solely on max extraction. A buggy app with minimal updates led to a strange airdrop with zero follow-through
Friend tech had a huge launch but the momentum didn’t last. After dropping its chain plans and going fee free, activity tanked. The $FRIEND token crashed, devs stepped back and the hype faded fast. A sharp rise and a sharper fall.
