It breaks the terms of service on X, It is illegal in many jurisdictions, But most importantly, it hides from followers that your interests might not be aligned with theirs. It obfuscates your true incentives and creates direct misalignment with those who follow you. Transparency only counts proactively, not reactively when busted. When used retroactively to state “I believe all creators should include a disclaimer for current and all future sponsored content” rather than simply own your failure is also not a good look. https://x.com/heycape_/status/1951081142381154348 Will be monitoring and hope Cape is good to their word, but worth monitoring.
